Hi! I'm Rachel Anne.

I write for women who’ve been doing everything for everyone and somehow lost sight of themselves along the way. I know that place all too well: the hustle, the heaviness, the disappearing act we perform without even realizing it’s happening. For years, I lived in survival mode, convinced that if I just pushed a little harder, I’d finally feel like myself again.

I was wrong, of course. That approach only carried me deeper into exhaustion. What finally shifted things was honesty. Stillness. And eventually… a story.

Permission To took shape in the stillness that followed a very loud wake-up call. What began as a therapeutic tool slowly grew into a story I knew I needed to share. During the worst of my burnout—when I didn’t even realize that’s what I was living—I didn’t need another productivity strategy or a “Burnout for Dummies” guide.

What I longed for was something I could see myself in, something that might have helped me pause before everything spiralled. I needed a voice that said, “You’re not broken. You’re exhausted. And you get to begin again.”

This book became that voice. It’s the book I wish I had during the hardest moments of my burnout, and it’s the one I hope women recognize themselves in now.

Burnout isn’t rare; it’s everywhere. Especially among women balancing careers, caregiving, invisible expectations, and the pressure to hold it all together. By sharing my truth, I hope you feel a little less alone, a little more grounded, and maybe even a little more willing to question the systems that shaped us.

My Work

I’m the founder of Révidaction, a linguistics and educational content development company that has partnered with colleges, universities, and cultural organizations across Canada.

My work lives at the intersection of learning, storytelling, and the arts.

Today, alongside writing, I design and lead workshops on burnout, self-permission, redefining performance, and reconnecting with yourself for women, mothers, female entrepreneurs, and organizational leaders.

Get to Know Me / Behind the Scenes

I love musical theatre, and in a perfect world I’d spend two (or three) weeks in New York City taking in as many Broadway shows as possible. Travelling with my husband fills me up in a similar way, especially if it involves good food, a lively city, or a warm beach. But invite me camping, in a tent or even the fanciest RV, and I’ll quickly decline. Camping and I are simply not meant to be.

I’ve carried stories with me since seventh grade. Writing Permission To rekindled that first spark. I’m already dreaming up future worlds—some real, some fictional—all rooted in women finding their way back to themselves.

I live in Ontario, Canada, with my husband and our two children. Our three-season structure, which you’ll meet in my book, along with the wonderfully chaotic season of life that brought it into existence, has become my favourite place to write, sip something bubbly, laugh with neighbours, and watch my kids turn their treehouse into a kingdom. It reminds me that even in foggy chapters, some decisions still lead to joy.

And at the heart of it all, I find joy in watching my children shine on fields, in classrooms, or on stages, and in the gentle spaces where words, books, and imagination have always felt like home.

I hope my story helps you reconnect with yours, because you were never meant to disappear from your own life.
